Fog over Perth and the southern half of Western Australia is clearing after a thick blanket delayed flights and affected road conditions early this morning.

A number of domestic and international flights were delayed or diverted at Perth airport.A spokeswoman says the fog has since cleared and operations resumed just before 7:00 am.She says flights diverted to other airports should land in Perth mid morning and airlines are working to clear a backlog of delayed flights.Passengers are being urged to contact their airline or check their websites before leaving for the airport.The duty forecaster at the Bureau of Meteorology, Matt Boterhoven, says visibility in some areas was down to less than 50 metres.
